Terms of Use
Last updated: May 2, 2026
By using What AI Done, you agree to the following terms. These terms are intentionally short and written in plain language.
The service
What AI Done provides a free, browser-based tool to compare two versions of a document and highlight the differences word by word. The core diff feature is free and will remain free.
Optional AI features
What AI Done offers optional AI actions (rephrase, simplify, free prompt) on text selected in the editor. These features require an API key provided by the user (BYOK mode).
- AI suggestions are generated by third-party providers (OpenAI, Anthropic) under their own terms of service.
- AI suggestions do not constitute legal, medical, financial, or professional advice. Always review the output before accepting it.
- Your API key is stored only in sessionStorage — it is never persisted beyond the current tab session.
- AI actions are subject to a limit of 10 requests per 24-hour period per IP address.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the service to compare documents you do not have the right to process
- Attempt to circumvent rate limits through automated requests or IP rotation
- Reverse-engineer, scrape, or overload the service infrastructure
No warranty
What AI Done is provided “as is” without warranty of any kind. The diff algorithm is accurate for the vast majority of use cases, but we make no guarantee that every change will be detected or correctly classified. Always review important documents yourself.
We are not responsible for decisions made based on the diff output, including but not limited to accepting or rejecting AI-generated changes in legal, medical, or financial documents.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, What AI Done and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of or inability to use the service.
Intellectual property
The What AI Done software, branding, and visual design are protected by copyright. The diff algorithm is built on open-source foundations used under their respective licenses.
You retain all rights to the documents you compare. We claim no ownership over your content.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms to reflect changes in the service or applicable law. Material changes will be announced by updating the date above. Continued use of the service constitutes acceptance.
